Approaches to Advertising Campaigns

Celebrity Endorsement

A$AP Rocky's Calvin Klein Advertisement - https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/calvin-klein-ss19-asap-rocky/

Chris Hemsworth's Hugo Boss Advertisement - https://www.hugoboss.com/uk/fragrances-men-boss-bottled/

Ed Sheeran's Nandos Advertisement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v1aBwmJxys

Gary Lineker's Walkers Advertisement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCEiGLPmjgQ

Celebrity endorsements would possibly work more than a normal advertisement as people look up to celebrities and may be more likely to buy the product if they see their favorite celebrity promoting it. For example, someone may be more likely to purchase Calvin Klein underwear after seeing A$AP Rocky advertising it.

Shock Advertisement

Where the producer presents a shocking image, slogan or story that the audience isn't prepared for. These adverts can be controversial too some degree.

'Shame On You' DOE Advertisement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOWSvr2K6-o

Shock advertisements may also work more than a normal advertisement as people aren't expecting the shock of the advertisement and it will therefore stick around in their head as it is powerful and sometimes controversial.

Comments

  1. Interesting adverts chosen here Elliot.

Can you please add a little more in relation to each individual advert and how it creates the shock aspect or how each individual ad uses the celebrity to gain viewers/ sales.

Also add a still image from the ad alongside the weblink.
