First Edits

This is the first audio visual advertisement I've made using a royalty free track called "Not Too Cray" by Huma-Huma, I decided to use this as it is fairly upbeat and it fits the aesthetic that i'm going for. It is advertising a made up clothing distributor brand called "Elmo's Clothing" which specialises in active-wear clothing. UPDATED VIDEO For this I changed the font and the colour of the "Liverpool's Best Active-wear" as I believe it worked better for the aesthetic that I am going for. This is my first print based advertisement that I have made. It follows the same format as the 'BONDS' advertisements as I believe they're very appealing and work well with the aesthetic I'm going for. It features a comedic strap line, a text box featuring the brand name and a discount code at the bottom. UPDATED VERSION This is the updated version of the previous print-based advert that I made, for this I shrunk the size o...

Advertising a product

Image
For my advertisement, I will be advertising clothes that already exist. I will be doing an audio-visual campaign and a print based advertisement. I will look into pre-existing campaigns and see how they advertise the products and to see what i could do to advertise products in a similar or better way.  This is a print-based advertisement series created by a brand called 'BONDS' for underwear and it is in a comedy style (with strap lines such as 'IT'S NO PARTY IN HIS PANTS.' and 'I DON'T KNOW IF THEY'LL LAST ANOTHER CURRY.' in a sans-serif font so it seems more friendly. This may attract people attention as comedy is a well known and loved genre and therefore people may be more interested into reading into what this advertisement entails.  MORE EXAMPLES https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DQsrXUWMzY This is an audio-visual campaign to advertise the clothing brand 'Champion'. It is a short video but it does a great job of showing ...

Culture Magazine Double Page Spread

Image
To create this, I put a picture of my friend Tom on top of a roof into InDesign to use as the background and then followed the typical codes and conventions of a magazine to create my double page spread page. I added the “Top 100 Hip- Hop Artists of 2019 RANKED!!!” masthead followed by the subheading/strap line “(according to their fans)” into a white box on top of the image. I then added text boxes to put all 100 rappers onto the page to follow the title of the page but i had to change some of the colours so that it worked on the page and so the text was visible and used a text wrap around Tom so it flowed correctly on the page. I then added another text box to try and get readers to interact and give feedback.

Culture Magazine Contents Page

To create this, I put a picture of my friend Tom on top of a roof into InDesign to use as the background and then followed the typical codes and conventions of a magazine to create my contents page. I added the “Contents ” masthead into a white box on top of the image. I then added text boxes to annotate what will be featured in the magazine to grasp the passerby/ readers attention.

Culture Magazine Cover Page

To create this, I put a picture of my friend Tom on top of a roof into InDesign to use as the background and then followed the typical codes and conventions of a magazine to create my front cover page. I added the “Culture” masthead followed by the subheading/strap line “Hip-Hop Lifestyle Magazine” into a white box on top of the image. I then added text boxes to annotate what will be featured in the magazine to grasp the passerby/ readers attention.

Text Wrap

Image
This is my example of a text wrap. To do this I got pictures off of the internet and the created a text box and filled it with body text. I then used the text wrap feature to wrap the text round the images to fit the codes and conventions of a magazine.

World DPS

Image
I created this newspaper double page spread in InDesign with inspiration from different newspaper double page spread but made some changes (e.g. changes to the text so that some interesting parts where bold to stand out more). I also did two text wraps around the picture of Stormzy and Earl Sweatshirt to follow the typical codes and conventions of a newspaper.

Image
These are my shot lists for the pictures that i will be taking for my magazine.

Second Double Page Spread

Image
I created this on InDesign and drew inspiration from various different magazines. I got a picture of 'Virgil Abloh' off of the internet to use for cover to act as the main image/cover image and then tried to replicate different magazine double page spreads. I then added the 'CUTURE' masthead to fit the code and conventions of a magazine. Then I added text and used the 'Text Wrap' tool to make the text fit around the image.

Style Leading Women Page

Image
I created this on InDesign and drew inspiration from various different magazines. Firstly, I wrote the letters “Q” and “A” and make them slightly go off of the screen to match the style of the copied magazine. I then added the ‘What SHE SAID' masthead to fit the code and conventions of a magazine. Then I added all or the text and the final image to recreate the original magazine cover.

CULTURE Single Page

Image
I created this on InDesign and drew inspiration from various different magazines. I got a picture of 'Tyler, The Creator' off of the internet to use to act as the main image and then attempted to replicate different magazine single pages. I then added the 'CUTURE' masthead to fit the code and conventions of a magazine. Then I added text and used the 'Text Wrap' tool to make the text fit around the image.

Thumbnail Rough Sketches

Image
These are my rough thumbnail sketches for a magazine. I followed the typical codes and conventions in order for it to look realistic and make sense. I drew a front cover, a contents and a double page spread and added codes and conventions to each page. I would add original pictures to the pages where a person is draw and i would add actual text instead of the blocks of “text”.
