I drew both of these thumbnail sketches in the style of the images of the double page spreads in the newspapers and annotated it to show the use of the codes and conventions of the newspapers.
For my advertisement, I will be advertising clothes that already exist. I will be doing an audio-visual campaign and a print based advertisement. I will look into pre-existing campaigns and see how they advertise the products and to see what i could do to advertise products in a similar or better way. This is a print-based advertisement series created by a brand called 'BONDS' for underwear and it is in a comedy style (with strap lines such as 'IT'S NO PARTY IN HIS PANTS.' and 'I DON'T KNOW IF THEY'LL LAST ANOTHER CURRY.' in a sans-serif font so it seems more friendly. This may attract people attention as comedy is a well known and loved genre and therefore people may be more interested into reading into what this advertisement entails. To create this, I put a picture of my friend Tom on top of a roof into InDesign to use as the background and then followed the typical codes and conventions of a magazine to create my contents page. I added the “Contents ” masthead into a white box on top of the image. I then added text boxes to annotate what will be featured in the magazine to grasp the passerby/ readers attention.
